We think it’s best to begin your collection 5 mainstays and working from there. Here are our favorite 5 neckties to start you off:

  • Navy Blue Necktie:  A solid navy tie really goes with anything! You can easily dress a navy tie up or down, and it pairs well with a myriad of different colors. We don’t suggest pairing it with black.
  • Black necktie: what says classic like a solid black necktie? A solid black necktie is the perfect tie to have for formal events, and can even be worn casually. You can never fail with a simple black necktie.
  • Striped Necktie: Striped neckties are style stapes and can be worn all year round. From edgy looks to preppy looks, you can achieve them and more with a striped necktie. Every man should have one of these prep style staples in their lineup.
  • Skinny necktie: A skinny tie is classic and currently in style. These can be worn casually or with a slim lapel blazer. If you’re more on the cutting edge side of style, you must own a skinny necktie.
  • Patterned Necktie: You have to have one tie that is a little fun and edgy! Not to be worn all of the time, but perfect to mix things up a bit, a patterned necktie should hold a nice spot in your oeuvre of neckties.

A necktie is one of the most versatile accessories any man can own. Did you know that one tie can make 3 very different outfits? For this, we’re going to choose a classic Men’s Navy and Red stripe tie from The striped tie is an American style staple and can look great in the office or out. Here are 3 different outfits that this beautiful tie can create.

  1. Basic button up shirt. You can also choose a plaid pattern that includes similar colors. We would go with a solid navy blue dress shirt or a classic white or light blue oxford.
  2. Khaki pants or dark denim jeans are perfect.
  3. Boat shoes or oxfords. Sockless is a great way to go to encompass the classic American prep look.

  1. Are you going to a summertime wedding? A khaki or light grey suit is our number choice.
  2. The navy and red tie pair well with khaki or grey, and can help you stay formal yet seasonal.
  3. We would go with a nice pair of cordovan or brown double monk straps or suede bucks.

Date Night:

  1. The goal here is to strike the balance between casual and yet a little formal.
  2. A well-fitting unconstructed blazer in a tan or grey color are perfect for the warmer season. If it’s cooler out, you can never go wrong with tweed.

Wearing a Tie with Swagger

Thursday, July 10th, 2014

WowMore and more men are starting to hop on the stylish bandwagon of wearing a necktie, not because they have to, but because they chose to. It’s a style choice, and one that doesn’t go unnoticed. Pairing a necktie with a casual outfit is simply, cool, and can make an ordinary outfit look extraordinary. However, some rules do apply. If you’re considering adding a necktie into your daily wardrobe, congratulations and welcome to Necktie Emporium.  Here are a few pointers to pull off a necktie with swagger and finesse:

  • Casual and care-free is a look that many men can pull of easily. Loosening the knot and keeping the top of the placket open on the shirt is a look that screams casual cool.
  • Dark jeans can be dressy regardless of what people say. A crisp dress shirt and dark slim jeans looks perfect in the office and out. We recommend sticking with a skinnier necktie if you’re considering pulling this look off.
  • Can’t master the perfect knot? Why not consider a high quality and extra stylish clip on tie from We have the best selection of clip on ties to keep you stylish and able to wear the perfect knot with ease.
  • Stick to classic patterns and colors. The wrong loud pattern can truly break any outfit.
  • Have confidence! There’s really no secret to it. You must exude confidence to pull of any style with finesse and ease.
